BEDA 1
Well today is my first day of blogging everyday and I thought that I'd first tell you what has been going on in my world here in Massachusetts.
First of all, I'm back in school studying to become a teacher and then a children's librarian! My love of books just sort of threw me into this. I'm taking classes through University of Phoenix so it's completely online, and let me tell you, it's not easy at all! In fact, I find myself struggling from time to time!
My oldest daughter is heading to college in 28 days! She's been accepted to Bridgewater State College and will live on campus. She'll be about an hour away, but I'm glad that she's moving out. It'll be good for her. I'll miss her, of course, but this means I did my job and she's growing up!
My youngest daughter, Lily, is heading to kindergarten next month! I still can't believe she's starting school already. It seems like yesterday she was just born! Time is fleeting when you have children, I'll tell ya!
My stepson went to his first concert on Tuesday! he saw AC/DC (He's his father's son!) and he had a great time.
I know that you're all reading this because you want to know what book I'm giving away! Well it's Barry Lyga's "Boy Toy"!
So why don't we do this--why don't you tell me a little bit about YOU. I'm going to have my eldest daughter pick the winner next Saturday.
Please remember that this contest is for US only. I will open it back up to International readers next week.

Hey :) I'm also studying for my BA in Secondary Education! We'll be teaching buddies. I don't have kids, but I do have dogs...they are like my kids!
ReplyDeleteWow, lot of exciting things happening :D
ReplyDeleteI'm starting my sophomore year of college as a double major in English and Art, with a minor in History in September. When I'm not doing that, I work part time in a public library and volunteer as a docent at a historic home and museum. It's only 120 years old (definitely not as old as what you could find in Massachusetts), but that's pretty old for South Dakota.
I wish you the best in your future librarianship! I'm playing with the idea of going to grad school for library science, but only time will tell.
And congratulations to your daughters! I hope they enjoy college and kindergarten :)
No kids but I do have 2 dogs that think they are my kids. You should have seen the road trip I took this last week - 2 dogs ( 80 pounds and 60 pounds) taking over the entire back seat of the Camry. They were good sports for having to be in the car for 12 hours. Outside of that I live in Manhattan pretty much work and commute.
ReplyDeleteI'm working toward my first BA in Psychology (I'm a senior this year, which is actually incredibly scary). I'm hoping to move on to grad. school to get my masters, and after that I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. I've got 2 cats, and a new kitten (who don't get along just yet). I work two jobs, which is a little stressful during school, but I make it work!
ReplyDeleteI was 4 hours away from home my freshman year. This might have been okay if I had a car, or some way to get off campus. But we were all trapped there. So, I transferred!

Lots happening for you!
ReplyDeleteI have another month before I start school. I'll be a junior in High School. Currently, I'm attempting to fix my schedule, as I have none of the classes I need to get into college. I'm also in too many clubs to mention.
I have a hedgehog named Hedgy (I'm real original), an iguana named Jack, 3 bearded dragons, a leopard gecko, a guinea pig, & too many rabbits to list. I show rabbits on the national level.
Stealing the idea from you talking about concerts, I have missed all the good ones in the area lately. I was at Showchoir Camps of America while Summer Fest took place, and I missed Warped Tour as well.
That's cool your classes are online, I know someone who took a few online, and sometimes those are harder than the inclass classes if you ask me.
