Prada and Prejudice Giveaway
Thursday, January 1, 2009, will be the first day of the giveaway. There are two requirements.
The first one is from the author herself. She wants all entrants to put on their blog her widget countdown.
The second requirement should be fun one.
Keeping it to one paragraph, tell us what was the most expensive USELESS thing you've purchased. In the post please let us know that you've put the widget on your blog.
The winner will be handpicked by Mandy Hubbard. This contest will end January 8, 2009.
Please notice I've included the widget on my sidebar. Just click on share, and add it to any blog you want.

Yay! I'm so excited. I have some smaller widgets on my LJ, too.

And also, the widget doesn't have to be on a blog, per se. It could also go on myspace or something similar. :-)
Yay! So I've posted my widget, now onto the hard part...the expensive "useless" thing. I'm assuming husbands don't count. Plus, I'm not sure that just because I helped pick out a wedding ring, means that I "bought" him. Hmm...not a big shopper (at least no real shoe or handbag fetishes to speak of). So I would have to say...an oven.
ReplyDeleteYes, you guessed it, I am not a cook! So when we did our big kitchen remodel, my husband actually suggested installing two microwaves instead of an actual bake-stuff-in-it-type oven. That, or a hotline to all the take-out restaurants in the area. But, noooo...I had to have an oven. A nice one. A fancy, stainless-steel one.
Guess what? It's still shiny.
Practically new.
Useless AND expensive.
Well, I posted my widget in an entry on my lj and it will probably be the one everyone sees for awhile since I'm so busy I haven't had many opportunities to post lately.
ReplyDeleteNow onto the exciting part! I can think of so many things I've purchased that were useless because I honestly think I'm a compulsive buyer/shopper. I go to a high school that costs $10,000 a year and I almost spent that much in a month...crazy, I know! Needless to say, I'm on a strict $1,000 budget now. (:
But for the craziest and most useless...hmm, that would have to be a state of the art treadmill. You can hook your iPod up to it, it has a built in cooling system with fan and water spray and motion detectors that work toward the safety of being on the machine. Sounds like a fabulously safe device and sounded like it would help in last year's resolution but sadly, I didn't use it. And the reason I purchased the item? Because my personal trainer and nutritionist suggested it for my daily work outs. Never followed his plans and never used that machine. Complete waste!
But at least if I win, the ARC will give me another reason to simply sit on my lazy butt and devour the book along with some chocolates. (:
